Peanut Butter STUFFED Chocolate Chip Cookies

you heard that right…

I may be avoiding the kitchen today but last night during the little snow storm I totally attempted these cookies which are the biggest sugar rush ever!

First I whipped up some super quick peanut butter balls or “buckeyes” without the chocolate coating…. just peanut butter, vanilla, butter and powdered sugar…

then these babies needed to be chilled for a bit so they wouldn’t be total mush…

they should be nice and firm when done…

feel free to eat a few in the mean time

Then just good old fashioned chocolate chip cookie dough batter off the back of the nestle toll house bag…

I add a little baking powder to my dough too but these still aren’t the cookies my dad used to make… one day I’ll get it…

The key is to make a sandwich with cookie dough, peanut butter ball, and cookie dough…

completely cover the peanut butter with the cookie dough… these puppies will be BIG…

pop in the oven for 13-14 minutes and enjoy the massive magic!

And then great grandmothers cookie sheets failed me, which I mean, what can you expect from cookie sheets that are 60+ years old

The sheet was bent and I didn’t notice so I had some squarish cookies but just as good…

These are yummy but I warn you they will put you in a sugar coma especially when you hit that peanut butter center!

No real recipe secrets here.

1. make peanut butter balls

2. make chocolate chip cookie dough

3. make sure everything is refridgerated (THIS IS KEY!)

4. sandwich the peanut butter ball between the cookie dough and bake for 13-14 minutes…

5. pour a glass of milk and enter sugar heaven

crashin and cookies

Thanks for the get well wishes!

I’m still feeling really rough today… I got out of bed at 6:30 after hitting the snooze button a few times and knew that a morning run was just not going to happen as I wasn’t even sure that breakfast was going to stay down… I opted for a small smoothie instead of my usual oatmeal because oatmeal just made me want to run for the bathroom…

I’m toughing it out at my one full day of work and think I’ll be able to make it until 5… I’ve got a back cracker appt at 5:30 and need to go because my jaw is getting a bit tight seeing as I skipped my appt on monday because I was already starting to feel bad…

I could really use a Steelers super bowl win! lol

So about these babies

No that is not a cookie that is burnt on both ends lol… it is a fantastic creation that I am calling a marbled chocolate chip cookie and its pretty darn easy to make if I do say so myself…

Basically you make 3 different chocolate chip cookie batters, smash them together in a ball and bake lol and in the end you get this marbled meshing of flavors!

My pics for flavors this go round were Nutella, Double Choc Chip and good old fashioned chocolate chip

Nutella dough

For the Nutella Dough you use the regular chocolate chip cookie dough recipe, add a 1/3 cup of Nutella and an extra 1/2 cup of flour.

regular cookie dough

We all know how to follow the recipe on the back of the Nestle bag for the yummy basic cookie

Double Chocolate Chip Dough

For the double chocolate chip sub 1/3 cup of cocoa powder for 1/3 cup of the flour

You can always adjust your recipe for consistancy… mine all ended up being a little different but just as tasty…

some regular cookies for the boy

I popped in some of the regular dough as is for the boy in case the marbled ones didn’t turn out but we had success on all ends this go round yay!

line em all up

could eat that raw!

 Yummo!

Pop em in the oven at 375 for about 9-10 minutes… these will be big cookies :)

Keep away from the dog who will try to eat all of them while you take pictures of them…

Pour yourself a glass of milk…

And DUNK

And then view the carnage

I took half the batch to the boy’s parents as my half of the batch only lasted 2 days…

The best compliment was the boy saying “ah babe you didn’t screw these up, bring me more”… he’s such a man…

Q of the Day: What is your favorite type of cookie?

Any plans for the superbowl?

Nutella Blossoms

ummmm put down whatever you are doing and make these immediately!!!!

these are to die for!!!! and i have to say i am super proud of myself for coming up with this recipe alteration and having it turn out!!!

Basically I just tweaked the peanut butter blossom recipe (i made 3 dozen of those as well and they are also totally nommy)…

Since Nutella seems to be the flavor of the season… I’m sure Heather will agree…. I was just chomping at the bit to put a spin on the same old yet delish peanut butter blossoms….

I couldn’t find any official recipes but since Nutella and peanut butter are practically the same thing I figured I could just sub in the Nutella and adjust as needed from there…

take some of this

base will look like this

I did end up needing an extra 1/3 cup of flour and probably could have used even more as the dough was still pretty sticky but let me tell you they turn out AWESOME….

after rolling you dough balls in sugar not too much dif than regular blossoms

and yes those are my great grandmothers baking sheets and they did a fantastic job on these cookies….

to die for

so like i said put down what youve got in your hands and make these… its worth “shucking” 4 dozen kisses for…

Nutella Blossoms

  • 3/4 cup Nutella
  • 1/2 cup shortening (or butter)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbs milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 cups flour (use judgement if more needed)
  • approximately 40-48 Hershey Kisses
  1. preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. cream together Nutella and shortening
  3. add in brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth
  4. mix in egg, milk and vanilla
  5. in separate bowl mix salt, baking soda, and flour- slowly add to wet mixture
  6. roll dough into 1 inch balls and coat balls in extra granulated sugar
  7. bake for 5 minutes
  8. remove and press in Hershey Kisses (sing a Christmas song while you do)
  9. put back in oven and bake for additional 2 minutes

Try not to eat them all within an hour…. it will be hard but try!!!
